Expression idiomatique anglaise n°33: To be as nimble as a goat

Ce photo vous parait improbable ? Non, elle n'est pas truquée. 

Si en France on attribue l’habilité à un singe, nos amis les anglais l'attribue à une chèvre. 

"To be as nimble as a goat" signifie "Être agile comme un singe".

Vous pourrez assister à un tel spectacle si vous vous rendez au Nord du Maroc. Ces chèvres se sont adaptées à l'environnement aride dans lequel elles vivent. Leur principale source de nutrition sont issues des baies qui poussent sur certains arbres.

Expression idiomatique anglaise n°32: Sky's the limit

'Sky's the limit' signifie "Tout est possible". Voilà une expression que j'adooore utiliser. Que cela soit pour s'auto-motiver ou pour motiver des personnes de votre entourage. 

Comme dirait Notorious B.I.G.: Tout est possible, ne faites rien sans mettre votre cœur à l'ouvrage.

Il n'y a pas de limite à ce que quelqu'un peut atteindre. Êtes-vous d'accord ?

Mieux que les cours d'anglais que nous avons pu suivre toute notre scolarité, je vais m'évertuer à poster du contenu de qualité qui vous sera utile tout au long de votre apprentissage.

Expression idiomatique anglaise n°31: Out like a light

Voilà une expression anglaise que j'aurais pu utiliser dans ma jeunesse (dixit la nana qui a 26 ans) durant les 4 années de folie que j'ai passé à Londres. Out like a light, décrit un état de sommeil rapide, profond et inconscient. 

Exemples: 
- Maureen went out like a light on the couch, so her husband put her to bed and turned off the light.
- Maureen s'est endormie comme une masse sur la canapé, donc son mari l'a mise au lit et a éteint la lumière.

- He goes out like a light when he gets into bed.
- Il s'endort rapidement quand il se met au lit

Introduce yourself. I'm Anthony Jospin, currently working as a bar tender & waiter in London but I am looking for a position in Marketing & Management. I love photography, movies and travelling.

Why and when did you make the decision to go abroad? I made the decision to go abroad right after I passed a two-year technical degree in communication. I needed to get a study break, I decided to go to Australia for one year. I finally stayed three years over there. Ahahaha!!

What advice would you give to someone who wants to travel to this country? I lived 3 years in Australia, then I moved from Australia to New York (I worked one year there). Now I am here working in England. The best advice would be, don’t be afraid to speak with people. You are not good at English? Who cares? People will be more than happy to help you and correct you when you say something wrong. People abroad don’t judge as easily as people do in France.

What do you like about this country? Australia is the best place to live. What did I like about Australia???? I would say everything!!!!!

How did you learn to speak English? At school but it does not really count. The best way is to learn English in an English speaking country because then, you realize that we still have to do few improvements within our educational system.

It is often heard that French people are bad at English. How would you react to this statement? We are not bad at English. I have met French people who are just incredible!!! It’s just a question of how lazy you are when you learn a new language.

Is there anything that would make you come back to France? Absolutely nothing. Oh wait!!!! Yeah one thing, a good baguette and a slice of cheese made in France.
