Expression idiomatique anglaise n°22: Easy as pie*

"As easy as pie" est un idiome familier qui est utilisé en anglais pour décrire une tâche ou une expérience très agréable et simple. Cette expression n'est pas directement liée à la réalisation d'une tarte, mais plutôt à l'acte de consommer une tarte ("aussi facile que de manger une tarte"), une expérience simple et agréable. En anglais, on retrouvera également les expressions: ''Piece of cake'' ou encore "Easy as ABC", qui partagent la même connotation.

Il y a quelques revendications que l'expression est née dans les années 1920 à partir de l'expression "pie at" de l'indigène australien ou "pie onr" le terme maori "pai" qui signifie "bon", mais il a été utilisé dans le Saturday Evening Post en 1913 (22 février), et en 1910 par Zane Grey dans "The Young Forester", et est probablement un développement de l'expression "like eating a pie", la première fois en "Sporting Life" en 1886.

Réussir sa présentation orale en anglais (phrases et expressions)

Voilà une liste non-exhaustive de phrases qui vous permettraient d'effectuer une présentation en anglais. Que vous soyez étudiants ou professionnels, j'espère que cet article vous sera utile.

Gardez en tête que vous devez rester concis, et ne pas vous dispersez dans de longues explications au risque de perdre l'attention de votre public. Informer votre public que des questions pourront être posées à l'issue de votre présentation si vous estimez que des interruptions pourraient vous déstabiliser.

Accueillir votre audience:

Une version rafraîchissante de Papaoutai en anglais

Le duo hollandais CUT encore méconnu du grand public a traduit la célèbre chanson de Stromae en anglais. Pour ceux qui seraient lassés de la chanson originale, il est temps de la redécouvrir. Une version rafraîchissante selon moi. Vous en pensez quoi ?
