Fiche de vocabulaire n°20: Le temps et la météo en anglais (Partie 1)

En anglais, on utilise le plus souvent it is + adjectif ou it is + verbe en ing pour parler du temps.

It is + adjective = pour décrire le temps

• It is windy.                               
• It’s a nice day today.

It is + verb-ing = pour décrire le temps du moment.

• It is raining outside.
• It s snowing.

Il est possible d'utiliser ces expressions à différents temps

• It was windy yesterday.
• It will be ranning tomorrow.

Il est bon de savoir différencier les noms, verbes et adjectifs lorsque l'on parle du temps:

• Rain: (nom) The game was cancelled because of the rain.
• Rain: (verbe) I think it is going to rain tomorrow.
• Rainy: (adjectif) It’s was rainy day.
